How we work

We understand every project is different and unique, and our approach to yours will be tailored to your requirements.

No matter how small or big the project, we will visit you on site and carry out an initial appraisal of the necessary work. This is our opportunity to take a comprehensive brief, allowing you to tell us exactly what you need. We will then write to you with our design proposal detailing our suggested involvement and associated fees.

Upon acceptance of the proposal, the design process will begin. We offer a detailed and consultative service throughout the life-span of the project, and are absolutely committed to seeing it through to glorious completion.

Pennbrook Interiors How we work

Buckingham Townhouse

This modern town house required significant redecoration and, working room by room, we needed to consider the practicalities of family life whilst incorporating our client's desire for a touch of glamour.

Used as a retreat, the drawing room required a neutral palette allowing our client to add her choice of accent colours with accessories and cushions throughout the year. Silver gilt and ivory soft furnishings with Murano glass lighting and antiqued mirrored furniture enabled us to create the elegant, refined room our client sought.

The family room provides an area for the whole family to relax in yet still retains an air of sophistication and luxury. With taupe as the base colour, warm, earthy terracottas complement the red-brick walls of the adjacent courtyard garden. Beautiful bespoke walnut cabinetry houses the family's books and AV system, whilst the oversized sofa provided the necessary comfort our client needed to kick back and relax.

Specifications

  • Complete stripping back and redesign of drawing room, family room, study and bathroom
  • Supply of all furniture, flooring, wallpapers, window treatments, soft furnishings, lighting and accessories
  • Lighting plans required for all rooms, overseeing installation of new electrics
  • Design of new cabinetry
  • Extensive collaboration with tradesmen on site for all rooms, ensuring all work was completed on time and to required standard.

The Old Byre, Somerset

Our brief was to transform a dated sitting room, dining room, guest bedroom and study into calm and elegant spaces, using only natural fibre fabrics throughout the property.

By contrasting striking, pictorial patterns with calm muted tones, we were able to retain a relaxed feel yet keep the interior visually interesting.

For the sitting room, our client requested a scheme with a light oriental influence, in a muted, neutral pallette. Our clients existing furniture was reupholstered and updated with decorative prints and window pane checks. The new soft furnishings, solid oak floor, and silk and wool rug allowed our clients artwork and antique furniture to co-exist seamlessly with a sharper, more sophisticated look.

Specifications

  • Complete redesign of fireplace; source and oversee installation of new, elegant wood burning stove and wooden mantel beam
  • Reupholstery of all existing furniture
  • Source, supply and oversee installation of all soft furnishings, wallpapers, flooring and individual items of furniture, lighting and accessories
  • Schedule of paint finishes
  • Supply and fitting of all hand made curtains and blinds

Berkshire Family House

Keeping in mind the rooms were to be redesigned in time for our clients daughter's wedding, we were asked to create a pretty and feminine dining room and hallway, in keeping with the celebrations, working harmoniously with the beautiful gardens that the rooms lead out to.

Existing varnised wooden dining furniture was in need of an overhaul and was rejuvenated by our specialist paint finishers. In combination with newly upholstered chairs, a lighter and more decorative look was achieved.

Our team of decorators painted both rooms to our specification, and combining stunning embroidered silks with bespoke crystal trims and acrylic curtain poles, we created a welcoming and beautiful hallway.

Specifications

  • Responsible for the schedule of finishes
  • Design and supply of window treatments for dining room, hallway and landing
  • Existing furniture painted and reupholstered
  • Supply of new key pieces of furniture and lighting

Beaconsfield Period House

Confronted with two dated bathrooms, we are asked to create new contemporary designs for a shower room and ensuite bathroom.

For our client's main bathroom, a more feminine, decorative and modern style was requested. We met this brief by internally remodelling the space, making it more roomy and luxurious. By using beautiful, glass Italian mosiacs with a pearlescent pattern and by rounding off all corners in the room, a softer, more fluid feel was achieved.

In stark contrast, our client's son's shower room required a more masculine feel. Combining marble mosaics and large format porcelain tiles, together with the clean, straight edges of the glass vanity unit, a dramatic and contemporary bathroom was created.

Specifications

  • Extensive structural remodelling and redesign of new ensuite bathroom and shower room, raising floor levels and changing location of fittings
  • Sourcing new tiles, all bathroom fittings, underfloor heating, and fabrics for window treatments
  • Overseeing complete installation of both bathrooms by respective trades

Henley Riverside House

Once a group of flats, this beautiful riverside property has been restored back to it's former glory and is now one home.

We were asked to provide soft furnishing schemes for several rooms using fresh, modern fabrics to inject a bold, invigorating splash of colour into each area.

Dated furniture was reupholstered and given a much needed new lease of life and key accessories including modern mirrors, furniture, lighting and cushions were used to liven up the respective areas.

Vital to the end result was creating new furniture layouts rendering the rooms more fluid and welcoming in feel.

Specifications

  • Existing furniture reupholstered
  • Supply of new key pieces of furniture, lighting and accessories
  • Spatial planning of rooms to improve furniture layouts
